But after playing that sound I hear nothing. One curious thing: the system does play the Windows start-up sound through the speakers when it boots, so I know the speakers are working and they are connected to the computer. Whenever I try to play an MP3 file, movie, or anything else with sound, I see the output level bars bouncing around on the Sound control panel, but hear nothing from the speakers.
I have the various system volumes turned up and nothing is muted. The Sound control panel has the default audio output device set to "Apple USB audio device". When I initially plugged the monitor's USB cable into the computer Windows recognized both the USB hub and the speakers on the monitor and installed drivers. This monitor has built-in speakers that interface to the system over USB. It works fine as a display connected to my GeForce 1060 board via Display Port.

If I do keep it, how do you deal with not being able to adjust the colors for callibration and any advice on an updated video card upgrade that would be good for photoshop / express digital use? I'm not up on all the latest video cards or monitors, so all advice/opinions welcome.1. The computer is used 100% for high volume photo imaging only, and is task dedicated with no games/movies/fun junk ever played on it. I'm running an HP w/AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ w/2gb ram using Windows XP sp2 and have an INVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE card. (I've been using a big Viewsonic P815 CRT and an EyeOne for callibration for the last few years with good results and do all color correction in house before sending files to lab.)

I actually just won(!) one in a sweepstakes and am trying to decide if I should use it or trade/sell for a different monitor as from my basic research, it sounds like it cant be color callibration adjusted when using a PC computer. Anyone have any first-hand experience with the newest Apple Cinema Display being used on a PC?
